Saturday 17th February – Day walk near Shoreham

South Downs starting at car just north of Shoreham grid ref TQ 197 097, just off the A283. Parking is limited so best to arrive in good time, and share transport but there should be plan B if parking is an issue. Arrive 8.45-9am for a 9.15 start.
Walk along the river Arun then inland along tracks ( there is a café near the lunch stop), then cut north towards south downs way, if we’re quick we could possibly grab a pint in the pub at the Devil’s Dyke, then back along the south downs way to the car park. Circa 14-15miles. I would say there is 100m of walking by a road, but if people are twitchy about that we should be able to find another route.
