DESCRIPTION:The next NKHC Day Walk is on Saturday 22nd February meeting at 09:45 for a 10:00 starting at Forest Green village.\nThe walk is about 10 miles. There are apparently 3 pubs on the route according to the guide book\, so there could be an option for lunch or a quick pint.\nIt’s probably best to pack a few sandwiches as we’ve been caught out in the past.\nThe route goes via Ockley and Walliswood finishing at Forest Green and the Parrot pub!\nPlease Brian know if you’re interested in joining the walk.

SUMMARY:Day walk on Friday 3 September - Horsley Diamond Jubilee Trail
DESCRIPTION:Stuart and Linda will be leading a 9 mile walk through the Surrey countryside (HORSLEY DIAMOND JUBILEE TRAIL) starting at East Horsley Station and taking in The Forest\, Effingham Common\, Great Ridings Wood\, Oldlands Wood\, Effingham Forest and Sheepleas. The walk is not strenuous but it is likely to  be muddy in a number of places and appropriate footwear is recommended. \nThe terrain is primarily ancient woodland\, forestry but with some farmland\, common land and wild flower meadows.\nPacked lunches will be required.\n\nWe will meet at the station car par park around 10.30 so as to set at 10.45.

DESCRIPTION:Sandy will be leading this overdue return to a fine Chilterns walk. \nROUTE \nWe will roughly follow this 11 mile route:  https://www.walkingclub.org.uk/walk/saunderton-via-bledlow-circular/. A big possible shortcut cuts the walk to 6 miles but avoids a pub lunch option in Bledlow. \nSTART\n\n\nSaunderton station (HP14 4LJ\, grid ref SU 815 985. Note this is not very close to Saunderton village). \nStart time 10 am\n\n\n\n\nLUNCH\nPub lunch at the Lions in Bledlow if there is sufficient interest. DESCRIPTION:This will be a hilly 9.5 mile walk in Ashdown Forest. Because of the August heatwave\, Chris has wisely decided to reschedule it for September. It is in a central spot so you have some of the best views in all directions. It also takes you to the Ashdown Forest Visitor Centre. The walk has a variety of terrain\, including dense woodland\, streams and wide heathland. It is fine for wearing shorts. There will be stops for coffee/water\, lunch\, visitor centre and The Hatch pub 2(2 miles from the finish)\, so we are unlikely to finish until nearly 5 p m. DESCRIPTION:Meet from 9.50am for 10.10 start at the FISHPOOL CAR PARK on Chobham common to walk to Horsell common\, heather Farm and Stanner’s Hill.  The core walk is 7 miles but can be extended on to Chobham Common to up to 13 miles (or less…) as required.  There will be a chance afterwards for a short drive into Chobham where the dog-friendly Red Lion may be a suitable place to round things off. \nThe walk begins at the Fishpool car park on Chobham Common\, Surrey.The car park is just off The Gracious Pond Road.
