DESCRIPTION:Paul will be organising a day walk in the Chilterns on Saturday 16 July. It is a 10-mile circuit\, roughly between Wendover and Princes Risbourough. DESCRIPTION:This will be a hilly 9.5 mile walk in Ashdown Forest. Because of the August heatwave\, Chris has wisely decided to reschedule it for September. It is in a central spot so you have some of the best views in all directions. It also takes you to the Ashdown Forest Visitor Centre. The walk has a variety of terrain\, including dense woodland\, streams and wide heathland. It is fine for wearing shorts. There will be stops for coffee/water\, lunch\, visitor centre and The Hatch pub 2(2 miles from the finish)\, so we are unlikely to finish until nearly 5 p m. The train station is one mile from the start  – there isn’t parking at Warnham Station. Start time will be 10am. DESCRIPTION:Please join Sandy for the next day walk  over Frensham Common and Kettlebury Hill (that’s the area with the Devil’s Jumps and Lion’s Mouth). It’s got coppiced woodland\, open pine forest and heath “which would not be out of place in the Scottish highlands” and a possible village pub stop. Some of the route is on familiar ground but with a new approach this time. As it’s largely on sandy ground the going shouldn’t be too squelchy at this time of year.\n \nLength – approx 9 miles  \nStart – NT car park at Frensham Little Pond\, 10.30 am \nRefreshments – none on route so bring a picnic\, but a short diversion will bring us to the Barley Mow in Tilford in the afternoon

SUMMARY:Saturday 17th February - Day walk near Shoreham
DESCRIPTION:South Downs starting at car just north of Shoreham grid ref TQ 197 097\, just off the A283. Parking is limited so best to arrive in good time\, and share transport but there should be  plan B if parking is an issue. Arrive 8.45-9am for a 9.15 start.\n\nWalk along the river Arun then inland along tracks ( there is a café near the lunch stop)\,  then cut north towards south downs way\, if we’re quick we could possibly grab a pint in the pub at the Devil’s Dyke\, then back along the south downs way to the car park. Circa 14-15miles. DESCRIPTION:Charmian is arranging this 8 mile circular walk around Haslemere taking in Black Down and the Temple of the Winds. Please bring a picnic lunch. \nThis is the Fancy Free walk\, ‘Haslemere and Blackdown’ so people can go at their own pace\, but hopefully we can meet up for a picnic lunch and at the end of the walk for a drink. \nMeeting arrangements to be confirmed but will probably be 10.20 at Haslemere station or 10.40 at nearby Hill Road where street parking is suggested in the walk directions. DESCRIPTION:Chris has arranged this walk which begins off the A29 in Ockley. If there is no cricket in progress\, park in School Lane\, W3W  woods.upon.crank\, postcode RH5 5TR\, grid ref  TQ146399\, opposite the cricket pavilion or the school. Otherwise\, there are spaces opposite the Inn on the Green and some spaces in the close by the Cricketers Arms.  O S Explorer no 146. \nBring a picnic. After the walk we can repair to the Cricketers or the Inn on the Green\, which are close to our parking area. \nThe walk\, of about 8 miles\, is from Ockley via Forest Green and Birketts Farm to Leith Hill Wood and then to the top of Leith Hill returning to Ockley via Hartshurst Farm. Should the weather be unduly hot or wet\, the walk can easily be shortened to 7 miles\, avoiding the Leith Hill summit.
