DESCRIPTION:Linda G has arranged a 7- 8 mile walk along part of the Chiltern Way. We’ll stop and study Stupas\, walk through woodland\, admire some great views and avoid Red Kites as we eat our lunch. \nMeet for a 10:00 start. Parking is along the road at High Heavens Wood road SL73QQ\, at the end of Ragman’s Lane\, Marlow Bottom\, Grid ref 844 896. \nPlease bring a packed lunch. SUMMARY:29 March 2026 - day walk near Witley
DESCRIPTION:Linda and Stuart will be taking us on another “Fancy Free” Walk.. Titled “Four Commons & a Mill”…. In fact\, its Five Commons. ( Rodborough\, Milford\, Thursley\, Ockley and Witley Commons) \nExplorer maps 145 (Guildford) 133 (Haslemere) \nDistance just under 8 miles of undulating\, easily negotiated\, forest and common land\, the majority of which is on sand\, so ideal given the weather conditions of the last couple of months. That said towards the end of the walk there are areas of mud requiring stout\, waterproof boots. \nIt is easy walking with stunning views\, a charming country village\, some local history and places of interest\, lakeside and dappled forest paths. The route is also ideal for dog walking. \nStarting point is from the Webb Road\, Witley (GU8 5QJ\, National Trust car park at 10.00 \nWhat 3 words: – hired\, pancakes\, improvise. DESCRIPTION:Sandy is arranging a midsummer’s day walk starting from Seaford at 11.15. \nMeet by the Martello Tower at grid ref TV483985 – there is parking there. The walk is just under ten miles with a spectacular start over Seaford Head. We’ll then walk over the downs above Seaford. \nPlease bring a packed lunch for a picnic on the downs. SUMMARY:Wednesday 22 July - Day walk at Streatley
DESCRIPTION:Ian has arranged a great walk along a stretch of the Ridgeway Path\, taking in beautiful countryside. \nStart time – this will be arranged to accommodate those on public transport once people confirm their travel arrangements. \nStart from Lardon Chase National Trust car park at SU 583 807\, w3w \n///greyhound.roofs.survived\, no charge for parking. \nAlternative start from Goring & Streatley railway station\, follow the \nRidgeway National trail to rendezvous point. \nRendezvous point at SU 588 816\, ///chef.revise.violinist\, 0.75 miles \nfrom car park\, 1.5 miles from railway station. \n  \nLunch time stop at a gem of a village pub\, serving local real ales \nusually including a dark mild and\, if we’re lucky\, a bitter brewed on \nthe premises. Food is restricted to filled crusty bread rolls but with a \nwide and interesting range of fillings. Gluten-free rolls are not \navailable as the kitchen is too small to avoid cross-contamination\, but \ncustomers are welcome to bring their own for them to fill. Similar for \nother allergens. \n  \nWalk is approximately 9 miles (10.5 for railway travellers)\, easy going \nunderfoot with moderate slopes. Foliage in places a little unfriendly to \nbare legs. Cattle\, including some lively little heifers\, at the start of \nthe walk from the car park\, and outbreaks of sheep in places.
