DESCRIPTION:We originally booked the Robertson Lamb hut in Langdale\, but it will not be available this year. However\, club member Shira has unearthed this little gem as an alternative: Rydal Hall Bunkhouse.  We have booked one room for Thursday night and two for Friday-Monday. As at 12 August we have exclusive use of the bunkhouse but this may change. \nWe hope to revisit Langdale next year.

SUMMARY:18-22 October: Cornwall MIDWEEK MEET
DESCRIPTION:As we needed to find an alternative venue for October\, we have booked the NT’s Penrose Bunkhouse for four nights from Monday 18 October. This is a departure from our normal modus operandi but it gives us extra nights at a reasonable price close to\, but not in half term holidays and before the clocks change. \nIt’s located right on the South West Coast Path at Chyvarloe in Cornwall. Simple\, but with all the basic facilities you’d expect from a holiday property\, the bunkhouse is heated by a wood burning stove in the living room. But with spectacular sea views\, you probably won’t be spending much time indoors. \nEnjoy a bracing cliff-top stomp along the coast path\, or\, for something a little quicker\, jump on your bike and head out along one of the marked trails on the Penrose estate and around nearby Porthleven. \nWith so much on your doorstep\, including a beautiful beach at Gunwalloe\, you needn’t stray too far. But magnificent West Cornwall has a lot to offer\, not least the spectacular Lizard peninsula\, mainland Britain’s most southerly point. \n

DESCRIPTION:Our December booking has been rearranged for the National Trust Dudmaston Bunkhouse\, situated in a quiet\, remote hamlet in the heart of the Shropshire countryside\, Dudmaston bunkhouse is a barn conversion to comfortable accommodation that sleeps 16 people.  The bunkhouse offers all the basic facilities you’ll need for your stay including some added extras. \nThe bunkhouse comes equipped with a multi-functional dining / meeting room with Wi-Fi and projector\, so it’s perfect for meetings and arranging activities whether that is for work or play.  All the communal rooms are on the ground floor and with a wet room and accessible bedroom\, everyone should feel included. The bunkhouse has nine bedrooms\, so although basic facilities\, guests only share a maximum of two to a room. \nAlthough it’s November\, we reckon Christmas pudding is allowed! \n

SUMMARY:Camping in Dorset - 18-21 August
DESCRIPTION:We have booked some spaces at Acton Field campsite\, near Swanage on Thursday 18 – Monday 22 August. The club had a great weekend there last year. There’s great swimming\, walking\, and mountain biking\, and YH and bunkhouse accommodation in Swanage for those who don’t want to camp.
