SUMMARY:Saturday 17 October 2026 - Runnymede and Windsor Great Park
DESCRIPTION:Roger C will be taking us on a gentle ramble around Runnymede and Windsor Great Park. The walk is a 7 mile circuit with plenty of interest and some fine views. \nMeet in the National Trust (NT) Car Park at Runnymede      Grid Ref : 995 733 at 10 for a 10.15 start. \nThe car park is free for NT members and £7 for the day for non-members.  The cafe will be open from 9am for those who like an early coffee (or breakfast). \nWe’ll walk up through Coopers Hill woods to the Battle of Britain Memorial\, then on to Windsor Great Park as far as the Copper Horse statue overlooking the Long Walk and the Castle.  On the way back to Runnymede we will pass (or more likely stop at) the Fox and Hounds pub.  And back to the NT cafe in time for tea! \n………………………………………………… \nMembers – If you’d like more information or to book on the walk please contact Roger C \nPotential guests – If you are interested in joining this trip or want further information please email nkhcinfoATgmail.com (instead of ‘AT’ please type ‘@’)

DESCRIPTION:We’ll be visiting the south western Lakes and staying in the Rucksac Club hut at High Moss\, Seathwaite\, Broughton-in-Furness\, in the Duddon Valley. \nhttps://rucksackclub.org/huts/?doing_wp_cron=1785676250.2795150279998779296875 \nGrid Reference: SD237967 \nPost code: LA20 6EE \nTo reach the hut drive through Seathwaite and approximately 600m after the Newfield Inn\, turn right at a signpost for Turner Hall Farm. In 100m a junction is reached with a gateway\, the track to the hut goes through this gateway (the road to the right goes to Turner Hall Farm). Continue straight on through the gate and leave all gates as youfind them (open/closed).  After some 100m the track swings right into an area that is used for storing farm equipment etc. The route to the hut is around to the left\, through a farm gate and across the field.
