SUMMARY:Saturday 5 April 2025 - day walk in Surrey Hills
DESCRIPTION:Sandy will lead this walk in the Surrey hills (Gomshall/Abinger/Holmbury area). The walk will be about 10 miles with a possible short cut near the end. It’s a combination of two routes Sandy has led before\, so will be familiar to some\, but we haven’t been there for a few years. Meet at Gomshall railway station GU5 9NX at 10 am. Grid ref is TQ 089 478. The station car park is no longer free but are usually quite a few free parking spaces on the Station Approach road – you should be all right with a 10 am start. For anyone using public transport\, there is a train from Guildford (0937) arriving at Gomshall at 0952. \nTowards the end of the walk we will pass close  to the Abinger Hammer Tea Rooms and just before Gomshall station\, there are the Compasses Inn and Gomshall Mill\, both of which have pleasant beer gardens\, so there is plenty of choice of post-walk refreshments. \n\nSorry this is so soon after the previous day walk\, but with a meet the following weekend\, Easter and other commitments it is the only suitable date. \nMembers – If you’d like more information or to book on the walk please contact Meet Secretary \nPotential guests – If you are interested in joining this walk or want further information please email nkhcinfoATgmail.com (instead of ‘AT’ please type ‘@’)
