Despite unpromising weather at the start, Linda tempted 14 people on to the November day walk. The weather soon dried up and we enjoyed exploring Chobham Common, little known to most of us even though closer to home than many that we visit. A mix of Surrey heathland and wooded areas, it made a welcome change, even though the hills (OK, the hill…) didn’t tax us too much. We visited the impressive memorial to Queen Victoria and rounded off the day at the Four Horseshoes.
