I slightly lost track of the numbers but I think there were about 15 of us on this weekend, featuring a fantastic Christmas dinner organised by Anne, with Brian and assistants overcoming a gas supply crisis to produce the turkey and plenty others contributing excellent dishes. The hut was located really high up above the Ceiriog valley, which I’d never visited before and which only revealed its spectacular nature towards the end of a rather dreich day on Saturday, when most of us walked various distances above and then along the valley. Three of us stopped on the way up to climb the Wrekin in beautiful Friday afternoon sunshine and we went back to Shropshire on Sunday for an interesting walk that turned out nice eventually.
