Feeling the heat in the Chilterns

Paul’s July walk took us to the Chilterns for the third time this year. It started at Coombe Hill near Wendover on one of the hottest days forecast. Tony reports: using the Ridgeway we made a circuit of the Chequers estate with great views over the Aylesbury plain from Beacon Hill. Descending to Ellesborough church, we then headed back up Coombe Hill to the impressive Boer War monument for more views, followed by another of Shira’s fantastic car-park cream teas.
